Narsú is a simple fisherman whose life suddenly changes from one day to the next, when he saves the life of a Prince of the Seas and in reward is given a magic necklace.  However, a gift so magnificent will attract envy, a fruit of greed, which will oblige him to leave his home and travel far away to foreign lands, where he will meet a mysterious stranger. She will prove to be the key to solving the enigma of an enchanted statue, whose destiny is linked to the other two characters and the necklace; but it will not be until the end, when the plot gives a final twist, that the mystery is solved and the surprising and endearing ending is revealed.

Set in the Orient of fantasy, Narsú y el collar mágico (Narsú and the magic necklace) is a children’s novel that continues the storyline first started by the author in his collection of short stories Leyendas de Arabia (Arabian Legends), themselves inspired by the Arabian Nights. Consequently, he describes beings frequently found in this sort of narrative such as genies and mermen, fantasy settings such as grottos and enchanted palaces, added to which are the magic necklace itself and the relevant characters of the story: a statue and a spellbound princess, providing all the elements for having a grand adventure in an extraordinary and exotic world.
